Personal values are like the building blocks of one's character. In recruiting, the core values I look out for are:
Humility - To be able to acknowledge one's limitations and strengths, while seeking self-growth with persistence.
Teamwork - I believe the best results are derived from a team working in synergy with a shared purpose.
Open-mindedness - Having an unquenchable thirst for learning to unlock hidden potential in new ideas.
I hope at EDUCE we can cultivate a value-based culture and make a lasting change together!

I hope EDUCE will continue to serve as a platform of opportunities for students - a community of passionate students exchanging different viewpoints, getting exposure to real life issues, and most importantly, making friends with whom you can navigate the confusing adulting world together. It would also be very touching for me, as a co-founder of the club, if EDUCE could further extend the network and achieve a wider reach of impact to any businesses or non-profit organizations in need.

Wallace Koh
Marketing Director
NUS Business Management and Real Estate Major
I decided to join EDUCE as I was inspired by its mission of bridging academia and the industry, as well as the warm and welcoming culture of the club. We were taught practical skills that are helpful and essential for us to transit into the workplace. I have gained many valuable competencies that were not taught in classes through involvement in real-life case projects. EDUCE continues to be a friendly and supportive club where I am able to comfortably share my ideas with my peers from diverse backgrounds and gain insightful feedback, allowing me to grow further. The friendly club atmosphere has also allowed me to connect with many knowledgeable and dependable friends. I hope incoming members will find our club and community helpful as a platform to learn and connect with like-minded people as I have!

I started EDUCE with a group of friends who believed in the same vision as me - to chart a path in uncharted waters. With the disruption in today’s world, there lies value in igniting new conversations in organisations to unlock interesting, perhaps unconventional, outcomes. The ability to challenge preconceived notions of “what was right” will be useful in providing organisations with fresh perspectives, which can help in navigating uncertainty. It is an immensely rewarding journey to work on projects that can potentially help businesses and nonprofits impacted by Covid-19 strategise sustainable outcomes.

Leroy Low
Vice President External (2021)
NUS Business Major
I have gotten a lot out of the club thus far having come from zero leadership and consulting experience. However, the biggest takeaway would be the opportunity and no-judgment space to put into practice whatever we have learned in NUS onto real-life problems and provide feasible solutions to those problems. In the process of doing so, I have learned beyond what it means to be a consultant and picked up on transferable skills that remain relevant even for a career beyond consulting.

Lim Yi Ming
Vice President Internal (2021)
NUS Business Major
As cliche as it may sound, I think incoming members should take away the spirit of EDUCE which is essential to develop or to bring out their potential. Adopting a growth mindset to constantly step away from the norm and to challenge the status quo is a repeated narrative especially in today’s world. But it is one thing we hope EDUCE can truly inspire in our incoming members. Although the initial step is always the hardest, as long as the attitude, acceptance, and effort to change are there, I believe that our members will discover their hidden capabilities. And we will be there every step of the way to guide them!

Hong Wen Yu
Research Director (2021)
NUS Business Major
As the Research Director under the Marketing subcomm, my role is to create research infographics and reports of up-and-coming and relevant topics for the members and external stakeholder’s perusal. Usually, the topics are something related to the business landscape in Singapore or maybe significant trends in global contexts! The infographics are meant for the members to gain a quick understanding into a particular topic that may be relevant for their work in subsequent cases and also pique their interest to find out more on their own time.
